A digital comic in black and white. Two panels sit side by side. In the first, a broken mirror reveals Roisia's concerned face. Astarion asks, "Looking at something?" And her reflection replies, "Looking for, more like. You have contusions on your face." The second panel pulls back to reveal Astarion turning around, bruises clear around his eye, mouth, and nose. "I WHAT?" he says.ALT
Roisia gazes up at Astarion's bruised face and asks, "You don't feel them? I wanted to take a closer look." Astarion gamely replies, "Go on then, you incorrigible woman. Examine me like a specimen of yours."ALT
Astarion bends slightly at the waist so Roisia can put her thumb on his chin and her other hand on his cheek to look at his bruises. Roisia examines him closely, observing, "It's strange. Your capillaries rupture as if you were alive. Does drinking blood replenish your circulatory system? I assumed your internal organs were in a state of disuse, but I wonder if your small intestine and liver are functional in ways I hadn't anticipated." Astarion, meanwhile, only smiles, and makes an observation of his own: "It IS strange, isn't it? You don't examine Lae'zel the way you do me, though she's just as strange to you. One can only assume that I must be the prettiest one here."ALT
A close-up of Astarion's face while Roisia gently touches the bruise around his right eye. Roisia replies, "Lae'zel is not cadaverous—" and is interrupted first by Astarion, who says, "I'm not hearing that I'm NOT the prettiest" and then by Lae'zel, who quips, "I would cut off her hands." Roisia, in the next panel, has moved to gently prodding the bruise on his frontal bone. She concludes quietly, "—and she would cut off my hands."ALT
In the final panel, Astarion clasps Roisia's hand to his bosom and coyly suggests, "I won't cut off your hands, darling, although there are... OTHER things I would have them do." Roisia looks at him unperturbed and suggests instead, "Like icing those bruises on that pretty face of yours?" Astarion grumbles, "Very well. ... Spoilsport."ALT

I know I am very likely the odd woman out on this one, but I liked the blood, dirt, and bruises from earlier patches and didn’t mind all that carrying over into the cutscenes. (Although, granted, I would ultimately prefer an on/off toggle option.) I found the “tell me I’m beautiful and be on your way” mirror scene to be hilarious when he was covered in bruises and caked in dirt.
